Go Bananas! Carnival: call for volunteers and participants
Help make the Go Bananas! Carnival unforgettable by volunteering, tabling, or showcasing your student business on May 30.
Get ready to celebrate 40 years of the Banana Slug! We are hosting the Go Bananas! Carnival on Saturday, May 30th, and we need your help to make this milestone anniversary unforgettable.
Whether you want to showcase your student business, represent your organization, or simply lend a hand to keep the energy high, we have a spot for you.
Perks for volunteers
To show our appreciation for your time and energy, all confirmed volunteers will receive:
- Official “Go Bananas!” t-shirt
- Limited edition Sammy Slug water bottle
Event highlights
- Mechanical thrills: mechanical bulls, zorb balls, and bumper cars
- Activities and art: rock climbing, hair tinsel, caricature artists, and airbrushing
- Food: free UCSC Catering for all attendees, plus local food trucks and vendors
How to get involved
We are currently seeking applications for:
- Event volunteers: Help us run the show (and snag your gear!).
- Tabling: Represent your department or campus organization.
- Student vendors: Sell your unique creations at the carnival.
Note: Filling out the interest form does not guarantee a spot. The planning committee will review all submissions and send out official confirmations with further details.
Deadline to apply: Sunday, May 24 at 11:59 p.m.

Shift times: Setup begins at 12:30 p.m.; Carnival runs 2:00–6:00 p.m.
