InfoView to Sigma transition update
This spring, the Data Management team completed multiple rounds of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for most of the high-priority and high-usage InfoView corporate reports and continues to build out the back-end data infrastructure necessary to launch Sigma access to the campus community in the coming months.
As a followup to our ongoing Common Data Platform (CDP) efforts, we are pleased to share continued progress on the transition to Sigma, our new campus reporting tool. This spring, the Data Management team completed multiple rounds of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for most of the high-priority and high-usage InfoView corporate reports and continues to build out the back-end data infrastructure necessary to launch Sigma access to the campus community in the coming months.
Additionally, we are excited to welcome our new Director of Institutional Research and Data Management, Michael Le, on Aug. 3. Michael previously served as the Chief Data Officer at Cal Poly Humboldt and he brings extensive experience bridging complex technical infrastructure with actionable insights. His leadership will be instrumental in advancing the remaining phases of our CDP project.
Over the next two months, we are advancing the InfoView transition with several key milestones. In August, we will expand Sigma’s user base and release new reports, while the CDP Advisory Group meets to review testing outcomes, validate the development roadmap, and plan for campus adoption. We will also begin targeted discovery sessions with high-volume units for their migration planning. This will pave the way for September, when we will share a high-level migration plan for Unit-Created InfoView reports and Shared Folders, alongside hosting comprehensive Sigma training and informational sessions.
As a reminder, InfoView will continue to operate in parallel with Sigma through December 2027 to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to current reporting needs. Maintenance and critical support for the legacy environment will continue, while new enhancements remain paused as resources are prioritized for modernization efforts.
