Be ready to vote in March 3 primary election
Tuesday, March 3 is California’s Primary Election. There are several important matters on the ballot, including primary elections for federal, state and local offices in addition to several local and state initiatives. Voting is a citizen’s fundamental right, and UC Santa Cruz urges you to let your voice be heard.

Today’s unsanctioned labor action by some graduate students and their supporters, with picketing and other activities at the main entrance of the residential campus, has concluded. Both the main and west entrances to campus are open.

Opportunities for dialogue
On January 27, Chancellor Larive announced two new programs to support our graduate students. Despite these efforts, we were disappointed that some of our TAs—200 of whom continue to withhold grades—last week threatened to escalate their activity to a full teaching strike.
