Astronomer Steve Vogt was featured in the National Geographic Channel program "Finding the Next Earth."

Environmental toxicologist Myra Finkelstein was featured on the KTVU television program "Bay Area People" in a show about efforts to save the California condor.

The San Jose Mercury News and the Santa Cruz Sentinel ran a feature story about UCSC music faculty Mesut Özgen and William Coulter, who are collaborating on a special program of Spanish, Latin American, Celtic, Turkish, and Russian music.

Astronomer Greg Laughlin was quoted in a Sky & Telescope article about the discovery of a planet in the Alpha Centauri system, the closest stars to Earth.

The New York Times ran an article about the Antarctic drilling project (called WISSARD) led by glaciologist Slawek Tulaczyk and others, who will be looking for signs of microbial life in a lake hidden deep beneath the ice.
