KQED ran a story about the San Francisco-based nonprofit music organization, Other Minds, donating its archives to UC Santa Cruz. It was also reported on SF Gate and in the Santa Cruz Sentinel.

Conservation biologist Bernie Tershy was quoted in a New York Times article about the use of technology to protect wildlife and preserve wilderness. The article, by UCSC American literature Ph.D. graduate Daniel Duane, ran in the Sunday NY Times on March 13.

Guillermo Delgado-P., a lecturer in anthropology, was interviewed by Veja, a leading Brazilian journal, on the Bolivian national referendum to reform the constitution and allow current president Evo Morales to be candidate for a fourth term. (The interview and article are in Portuguese.)

Biologist Barry Sinervo was featured in a Santa Cruz Sentinel story about his research on California giant salamanders and an unusual population of the salamanders living in the caves on the UCSC campus. 

The Santa Cruz Sentinel featured a UC Santa Cruz NewsCenter story about a new book by emeritus humanities professor Jim Clifford, In the Ecotone, that reflects on the campus as an extraordinary architectural and ecological site.

Biomolecular engineer Kevin Karplus was quoted in a Wall Street Journal article about DNA sequencing of school mascots.

Astronomer Garth Illingworth was quoted in widespread news coverage of his team's observations of the most distant galaxy ever seen, including stories from CNN, Associated Press, CBC (Canada), Spiegel (Germany), New York Post, Huffington Post, Christian Science Monitor, Hawaii Tribune Herald, Forbes, Engadget, Daily Galaxy, Space Reporter, Space Daily, and many other media outlets.

Biologist Bruce Lyon was quoted in Santa Cruz Sentinel coverage of Hummingbird Days at the UCSC Arboretum.
