Campus transitioning to new mobile parking payment vendor
All existing, publicly available ParkMobile spaces will transition to AMP by September 19, 2026.
Effective August 31, 2026, the campus began the transition from ParkMobile to Aims Mobile Pay (AMP) which is a product of Aims, our parking management system and primary virtual permitting provider. AMP will thus be the primary, on-demand, app-based solution for public facing hourly and daily parking at UCSC.
All existing, publicly available ParkMobile spaces will transition to AMP by September 19, 2026. As part of the implementation, mobile pay zones will no longer have numbers, and will instead utilize the number and name of the parking lot for that space (e.g. Lot 104 – East Remote). Additionally, the transaction fee will be reduced from $0.45 per transaction with Parkmobile to $0.25 per transaction with AMP. Parking rates themselves will not change due to this transition, nor will the quantity of mobile pay spaces on campus.
This step aligns with the campus-wide transition to a centralized virtual permitting system. AMP offers reduced transaction fees, improved customer support, and full compatibility with the existing Aims database. This integration enables TAPS to diversify parking options, ensuring a more seamless and accommodating experience for all affiliates and visitors.
This is a phased transition, so both AMP and ParkMobile will be available between August 31 and September 19. Please use the platform indicated by the signage in the lot where you are parked at that time.
As part of this transition, we are also introducing a campus-wide zone for eligible employees to purchase Daily Scratcher Permits via the AMP parking app, Simply type “Daily Scratcher” in the AMP search bar to access this feature. Daily Scratcher Permit holders’ parking privileges remain unchanged, allowing eligible UCSC employees to park in any standard, non-reserved “A” or “R” space. We hope this app-based approach provides a more streamlined experience, and we anticipate that it will be ready for use by September 19, 2026. Daily Scratchers will continue to be available via ucsc.aimsparking.com if users would like to continue to use that interface.
In order to see affiliate rates in AMP, active UCSC employees and students must create an account using the UCSC email address with their CruzID (no aliases). Accounts without an @ucsc.edu email address, or one using an alias instead of their CruzID, will be subject to non-affiliate parking rates to use mobile pay services on campus.
AMP is available via web browser at aimsmobilepay.com, or as an app on Apple and Android devices. We encourage anyone who may utilize mobile parking services to park on campus to download the app and set up an account prior to arriving at UCSC.
